These charts are taken from
"Birds of the Kanawha Valley", by J. Lawrence Smith, published by the
Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club, Charleston, WV, 1996.
The following charts are designed to offer visual reference for determining when certain birds can be expected in the Kanawha Valley Area during the year. They show the seasonal occurance and status of the 210 most frequently observed birds. The length of the bar reveals the period of time during the year when a species regularly occurs, while thickness indicates relative abundance at various seasons.
