HANDLAN NEWSLETTER MARCH 2008
The Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will meet Monday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the South Charleston Public Library. There will be an Executive Committee meeting at 6:00.
Roger Hardway, a Handlan member and Master Naturalist with a long-standing interest in botany, both identifying and photographing plants, will present a program about spring wildflowers.
Along these lines, another Handlan member and Master Naturalist, Betsy Trammell, will present a program about the wildflowers of Kanawha State Forest, focusing in part on plants that thrive during all seasons of the year, at 12:15 p.m. at the Clay Center art gallery on Wednesday, March 19. This event is free, so you'll have two chances to learn about wildflowers as the time for their spring emergence approaches.
Also, at our Handlan meeting, we'll discuss our recent outing to the Spring Hill Cemetary in pursuit of woodcock, as well as dicuss other observations and upcoming events. See you Monday!
