The next meeting of the Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will be on Monday, February 15, 2010, at 6:30 PM. Although this is a government  holiday, the South Charleston Public Library WILL be open for regular hours.

Our speaker will be Ben Lowman, a biologist with the WVDEP. Ben will present a talk on the impact of increased levels of selenium on bird embryos and their development. Selenium is an element which is being
discovered in increasing levels in surface and ground water in our area so this topic should be of vitalinterest to folks with an interest in birds and in human health.
