The next meeting of the Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will > take place on Monday, April 18, at 6:30 PM, in the South Charleston > Public Library. Our speaker will be Sue Olcott, biologist for the WV > Dept. of Natural Resources, and she will give a presentation on "Dragons > and Damsels in the Mountain State," explaining some findings from the WV > Odonata Atlas Project. > > > And speaking of atlas projects, remember to keep track of your breeding > bird observations. Make note of birds carrying nesting materials or > building nests, as well as mating activity. Pass your observations > along to Doren Burrell or Jim Triplett so that we can enter them into > the breeding bird database for West Virginia. > > > We are still looking for your suggestions (and volunteers!) for officer > of the Chapter. If you have suggestions as to who would be a good > candidate for the positions of President or Vice President, please give > your suggestions to our nominating committee, Don Morton and Martha Hopper. > > > Don't forget that the Handlan Chapter will also have a booth at the Clay > Center's Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 30th, from 11:00 to > 4:00.
