One of MY ducks is in the paper! Check out this Daily Mail story! These are my birds! ...ok, so it's not actually MY duck, but Solo the Eider was
hatched out in July at the Alaska SeaLife Center where I worked this
summer. She's living with her foster mom (a duck named Asara),
in a condo on the back deck of the Center. She's the first of her
species to be successfully laid and hatched in captivity. We also
had another success with a red-legged kittiwake - also a first to be
laid in captivity, and born to a lovely female bird named
Possibility, who used to dive-bomb my head when I got too close to
her |
