Kanawha Peregrine Falcons
Jim Triplett has been keeping a eye on a pair of Peregrine Falcons which have been hanging out around the I 64 bridge over the Kanawha River in Charleston. He has found out by the tags that they were both hacked at the New River operation. He is still trying to get addition data as to age, sex, and etc.
On May 3rd, 2008, Barb and Jim Smith were to meet Jim Triplett at the I 64 bridge over the Kanawha River in Charleston and, having arrived first, saw both Peregrine Falcons. We were joined shortly there after by Jim and Bev Triplett and Ron McLaughlin. One of the falcons was no longer visible (perhaps on a nest), but the other was enjoying a meal of, apparently, a pigeon. Through Jim Triplett's scope we could watch him eat, with feathers flying. Ron took lots of photos.
These Peregrine Falcon photographs are by Ron McLaughlin on May 3, 2008.
